ShareHope Central Ohio is a chapter of the National Share

The mission of Share is to serve those touched by the tragic death of a baby through early pregnancy loss, stillbirth, or during the first few months of life. From grief and loss to hope and healing, we are a hand to hold, a shoulder to cry on, and an ear to listen. We are more than a resource, but a community of understanding unlike any other.

Our goal is to ensure families are given every opportunity to heal from this tragedy. The support Share provides encompasses emotional, physical, spiritual, and social healing, as well as sustaining the family unit. Our vision is to set the standard of personalized bereavement care through lifetime support, hope, and healing one family at a time.

Share also offers educational opportunities and resources for caregivers, so that they may better understand and serve the needs of grieving families.

Read on for a few quick tips to help you on your journey of healing.

Take Care of your Body

Caring for your physical health is just as important as caring for your mental health. It is important to eat a balanced diet, exercise, drink plenty of water, and get plenty of rest.

2

Find Your Community of Support

There are many ways to find support. Some people like to attend pregnancy loss support groups while others will find an online community most helpful. Still, for some a close friend or family member may provide great comfort. Whatever you do, don't isolate yourself from those who care about you. If your sadness significantly interferes with your daily activities, it is important to contact your doctor or seek professional help.

3

Communicate

Don't be afraid to tell others what you need, and to be specific! People will not know what to say to you, so it's OK to tell them when you want to talk about your baby and when you do not. Even your most well-intentioned family and friends may not know how to help you.

4

Take Care of your Mind & Spirit

Be sure to take care of yourself! Taking time to relax ad reflect may be hard to do, but it is necessary for your healing journey. Some people enjoy reading and writing; journaling offers a wonderful opportunity to gain clarity on your journey towards healing and wholeness.
